Obituary of Richard Earl Gleason

Richard Earl Gleason, 89, of Chester Virginia passed away on Tuesday November 15, 2016. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Sheets Gleason, his son, Richard Wayne Gleason and his parents Grover and Isa Gleason. Richard was retired from Dupont after 35 years as an Electrical Foreman, was a veteran of the United States Navy serving in WWII, was born in Hopewell where he resided for most of his life, and he loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his sons, Donald E. Gleason and wife Janis, Kenneth N. Gleason and his wife Monica, grandchildren, Wendy Joiner and her husband Mike, Donald Gleason, Jr. and his wife Danielle, Kersi and Marisa Gleason, and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday November 20, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, Virginia. Graveside services will be at Bermuda Memorial Park on Monday November 21, 2016 at 11:00 AM, interment will follow the service. The family has requested that no flowers be sent and contributions made to Burrowsville Fire Department 17300 James River Drive Disputanta, Virginia 23842 C/O Donnie Hock.
