Obituary of M. Dean Whittington
M. Dean Whittington, 78, of Matoaca passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 Mr. Whittington was preceded in death by his parents, Zelma Carl and Mertie Louella Whittington, loving wife of 55 years Nonie May Emory Whittington and a daughter, Darlene Whittington. He attended the Church of God in Blackstone, VA, was a former president of the VMA Bluegrass association, member of city council and on the planning commission in Colonial Heights. Dean always said "Put God First ". He is survived by three daughters, Nancy Whittington Curtis (Rye), Donna L. Whittington and Deborah Whittington Malbone (Kevin), five grandchildren, Nicole Stull, Richard Davis, Heather Wilson, Kristen and Katelyn Malbone, great grandson Noah Stull, two brothers, James Whittington (Laura) and Carl Whittington, sisters Ruby Long(Jon), Shirley Pennington, Jessie Anderson, numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at Ivey Memorial United Methodist Church 17120 Jefferson Davis Highway S. Chesterfield, Va. 23834, Friday December 26 2014 at 4:00 PM. The family would like to thank the staff of Colonial Heights Health Care Center for all of their dedication to their dad and his valued friends of the music community. They are greatly appreciated.
