Obituary of Kermit Jackson Wright

Kermit “Jack” Jackson Wright, 60 years old of Hopewell, VA, passed away on January 3, 2023 after a long illness. Jack was born in Petersburg, VA to Edward Wright and Dorothy Lee Ashby on August 21, 1962. Jack was employed as a mechanic most of his life and had a passion for cars. He was a fan of Johnny Cash and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. His greatest joy was being a grandad. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he loved them dearly. He battled his illness courageously to attend his grandson’s 4th birthday party last month. Jack gave back to the community volunteering at Company 13 Fire Department and the Southside Emergency crew. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Stephen Wright. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Crystal Dawn Wright, daughter, Kayla Shook, son in law, Zachary Shook, grandchildren, Abel and Disney Shook. He is also survived by sisters, Patricia Smith, Judy Browning, brother, Edward Wright and 3 nieces and 3 nephews special friends, Thomas Nunnally, Darren Nunes, Diane Nunes and Bubby Bish. He will truly be missed and will never be forgotten. Information regarding Kermit “Jack” Wright’s memorial service will be posted at a later date.
