Obituary of Sherri Lynn Hulcher
Sherri Lynn Hulcher, 55, passed peacefully Saturday November 12th, 2022 after winning her 12-year battle with cancer. Sherri is preceded in death by her grandmother Wanda Evelyn Persinger, grandfathers Albert Ray Bush and James Hollins Persinger and brother in-law Michael Skelly. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Frank ‘Gus’ Hulcher; her three daughters Carrie Janak (Isaac), Allison LaBrake (Jon), and Kelsey Christopher (Brock); and the true loves of her life who called her Granna: Makensie, Evelyn, Cole, Lucy, and Avery. In addition to her immediate family, Sherri is survived by her grandmother Frances Lucille Bush, her parents Sharon and Charles Persinger, her brother Bobby Persinger (Misti), her sisters Shannon Skelly and Tina Persinger, as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and numerous “adopted” children.
Sherri was loved by everyone who knew her. She was constantly surrounded by people who loved her and was blessed to have her friends Tammy, Jennifer, and Stephanie by her side until the very end.
Sherri was a force of will that affected countless lives. Sherri’s family was bigger than her kin; she was always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. For over three decades, Sherri opened her home to care for children whom she loved as if they were her own.
Sherri never stopped moving and was planning her next summer vacation until her very last days. Whether it was securing a twelve-bedroom beach house or planning her next trip to Disney World, she was always building memories for her family.
Sherri’s memory will live on through those who loved her. Her spirit will endure through the countless lives she touched.
A memorial service will be held at The Barns of Kanak (5503 Ruffin Rd, Prince George, VA 23875) on Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the Hulcher family requests donations be sent to Stand Up To Cancer (https://standuptocancer.org/) or to St. Jude Children’s Research charities (https://www.stjude.org/donate/) in Sherri’s honor.
