Obituary of Scott Lee Douglas
On October 16, 2021, Scott "Scotty" Lee Douglas was greeted in Heaven by his son, Donovan Douglas; his grandparents; many friends; and his mentor, Jesse Barber. He leaves behind his mother and father, Donnie Rae Rash and James Alec Douglas, Jr.; siblings, Angela Marie and Donna Michelle Douglas, Kirk Lee and Jerry Lee Douglas; daughter, Abigail Douglas; and his beloved, Teresa Jean Blakley.
Scott loved the beach, his family, friends, especially his children, traveling, working hard and dancing He could Shag and had some pretty good dance moves! For the last 3 years, most nights, you could find him enjoying “The Studio,” which was just a Bluetooth speaker, and singing at the kitchen table and playing Yahtzee. He didn't know a stranger and offered help to anyone who needed it, often without being asked. He was a Master Carpenter who learned from the best, Jesse Barber. Many stories of late nights and early mornings have been told, and Scott loved to point out the houses they built and worked on together in Hopewell, Virginia. Rest easy you guys, your skills and labor have sheltered families and stand strong. Scotty, you were loved and will be missed.
Family and friends will celebrate his life on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, from 1:00-5:00PM at the Hopewell Moose Lodge (1472). A brief service will begin at 1:30 PM followed by a luncheon. Please RSVP by 6PM by calling or texting Teresa at 804-218-2929, so the staff is adequately prepared
