Obituary of Sophie Danielle Guillot
Our beautiful girl (young woman) is gone.
Sophie was surrounded by loved one’s at the time of passing and felt the love being sent to her by so many family members and friends. Words cannot express our sorrow. Our hearts are broken.
Sophie was originally from Charlottesville, VA and at a young age moved with her family to Bay St. Louis, MS to have the full grandparent experience. During her years on the Gulf Coast she was able to spend time with her grandparents who adored her. Some have referred to Sophie as an “old soul” and this may have been her grandparents love and influence. By 2nd grade, our family returned to Virginia, Dinwiddie County.
Sophie once again made new friends and jumped with both feet into her new home and town. The friendships she formed throughout her school years continue to this day. Sophie was loved by all.
After determining her collegiate route, Sophie honed in on nursing. She graduated from Bon Secours School of Nursing and found her work home at St. Francis Hospital, Emergency Department and later Southside School of Nursing as a Clinical Educator. Once again giving everything she had in her heart and soul to care for people in need. She had actually been nurturing those around her throughout her short, but full, beautiful life. The family is in the process of establishing a scholarship fund, Sophie Guillot, Excellence in Nursing, and will have more details soon.
Sophie is survived by her loving father and mother, Mark and Alice Guillot and adoring “sissy”, Sunni Guillot (fiancé, Jeremy Hayes) and her own fiancé Joshua Patrick; aunts Joyce Wuensch (Larry), Carol Thomas, Patty Thomas, and Margie Mayfield; cousins Billy Wuensch (Lynette) and daughters Abigail, Emmaline, and Amanda, Jamie Cato (Gideon Berkowitz), Ricky Cato, Edith Mercurio (Joe) and son Tommy and daughter Lauryn; numerous family members throughout New York, New Jersey, and Louisiana; and Joshua’s family, Francis Atkinson (Mike), Afton Patrick, Virginia Walters (Preston) and sons Waylon and Phoenix, and Zachary Patrick. Sophie had many special friends, if you knew Sophie, you loved her.
