Aunt Mildred was one of a kind! From our early memories of her visiting us in Delaware with Uncle Junior to her recent calls with our late mother and calls to us after Mom passed, Aunt Mildred always had a way to make us laugh. We will miss you, but know without a doubt that Aunt Mildred and our mother, Maude (Hufnal) Smith are in Heaven reminiscing about their many cherished memories. Aunt Mildred was the last of my generation of aunts. I grew up all my younger years around Grandpa and Grandma's house knowing the aunts as "the sisters" The respect they had for my grandparents has had a lasting impression on me down through the years.Great memories. Aunt Mildred was a jewel. She always made me laugh and even chastise me with a feather when i needed it. I will truly miss her smile and unconditional love. I have only been around "Nannie" a couple of times during her visits to Winston Salem to visit Christian. I so enjoyed our conversations and admired her sponky attitude. I'm sure there is a party going on in heaven. God's peace be with you all... with love, Lynda Dixon

I am still crying with the loss of my beloved neighbor. Millie and I were neighbors for more than 35 years. I will truly miss her generosity, her council, her humor and witty jokes. Rest in peace my dear friend.
