Obituary of Marcus A. Muckenfuss
Marcus "Mark" Arthur Muckenfuss, Sr., 66, of Prince George, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2015 surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Bretten, West Germany to the late Arthur Cleveland and late Hildegard Muckenfuss Bluford. Marcus is survived by Brenda, his loving wife of 39 years; his sons, Michael Muckenfuss, Marcus Muckenfuss, Jr., and Kirk Muckenfuss; sisters, Kathleen Muckenfuss and Jakarta Eckhart; a brother, Ralf Muckenfuss; uncle, Lothar Muckenfuss and wife Hetti Muckenfuss; aunts, Ruth Oberfoll, Elfi Muckenfuss, and Thea Muckenfuss, 12 grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Marcus was a veteran of the US Army from January 1968 to January 1991 where he served as the First Sergeant at Kenner Army Hospital and was the first enlisted patient representative for the army retiring after 23 years of dedicated service. He became a citizen of the United States on June 12, 1979. After his military career, Marcus continued to serve the army another 13 years as the night Duty Manager for the Fort Lee Officers Club. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 24, 2015 from 1:00 - 2:30 pm at Memorial Funeral Home, in Hopewell. A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation. Interment will be held at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. Condolences may be registered at www.memorialfh.com.
