Obituary of Susan Sheffey Shomette

Susan Sheffey Shomette, 50, of Chester passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011. Susan was preceded in death by her loving parents, E. Summers "Bud" Sheffey and Bettina Bass Menzel. She is survived by beloved family, her husband, Gilbert W. Shomette, son, Andrew Van Horn, daughter, Summer Shomette and sister, Sarah Preston Van Steenis. Susan will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 pm Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell and where funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Friday, October 14, 2011 with Dr. James E. Maggard officiating. Interment with graveside services will be conducted 3:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2011 in the Walnut Grove Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 3012 Lee Highway, Bristol, VA.
