Obituary of Marie W. Stoupa

Marie W. Stoupa, 91, of Prince George died in her sleep after a brief illness to be awakened by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was born to Nathaniel "Ed" Wilson and Nellie Wilson of Littleton, N.C. on October 2, 1923. Marie was married to decorated WWII veteran, Roland Stoupa. She is survived by her three sons, Steve, Karl and Eric all of central Virginia; her brother, Douglas Wilson of Kittrell, NC; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Marie loved church and bible readings. In 1970, she authored and had published a short paperback entitled, "Jewels from the Holy Bible" dedicated to her sons. Marie was also an avid painter, painting with water colors and grew beautiful flowers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory. 214 N. 6th Ave. in Hopewell. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. in Southlawn Cemetery on Thursday, August 13, 2015. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of your choice.
