Obituary of Hurley Mack Slusser

Hurley Mack Slusser, 86, of Hopewell passed away Friday, February 24, 2012 at his home. Mr. Slusser was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Bessie Nicely Slusser and a grandson,, Earl Thomas "Bubba" Newton. Mack was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII and attended Broadway Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy G. Slusser, a son, Michael Slusser (Laura), four daughters, Donna Newton (Earl Thomas), Wanda Mullens, Sharon Slusser (Jerry Ford) and Deborah Grissom (Jamie), nine grandchildren, Jared, Evan and Molly Slusser, Wes, Matthew and Russell Mullens, Cory Timperio (Shelby), Morgan and Mallory Grissom, a great granddaughter, Lily Grace Timperio. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 pm Monday, February 27, 2012 at the Memorial Funeral Home, 214 N. 6th Avenue, Hopewell, VA. A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 am Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the Bermuda Memorial Park with Rev. Malcolm Eugene Reeves officiating.
